I totally want to go but I don’t know how to dress like a Rosie!
That’s ok, we are here to help. The uniform is easy. The uniform consists of four items:
DARK blue work clothes (coveralls preferred or pants with a shirt tucked in and sleeves rolled up, cannot be denim) Locally you can get them at Carhartt, Walmart, Tractor Supply, and Workwear.
Red tall socks (we like the soccer socks sold at sporting good stores).
Black “work” boots (no sneakers, flip flops, sandals, or high heels).
A red bandana with white polka dots (not paisley). It’s very specific fabric called Sweetheart Polkadot that can be bought at Joann Fabric.
If this is a daunting challenge for you to gather everything in an epic Rosie costume scavenger hunt- don’t worry! We can do it for you. For an additional $50 (it’s our cost. But, if we sell a ton though and the price per drops we will donate the extra to Save the Bomber Plant) we will provide your blue coveralls, red socks, and your polka dot bandana (custom made by our friends at William and Bonnie in Hamtramck.) You will need to bring your own shoes.
Your uniform will be waiting for you at the check in table the morning of the event. We are happy to do hair and makeup for anyone regardless of if they wear their own uniform or buy one through us. If you are changing at the event we recommend a white t-shirt and leggings so that you can slip your coveralls over them easily. We are a team and will work together to get 108 Rosie from Detroit to Yipsillanti and bring the record home!
